Dunning, John Acceptance Weaving by Ashley Lamb for Spring 2014 in ART4315. This piece uses casino yarn that has been ikat resisted in both the weft and the warp. The base of the warp was uneven dyed in a purple MX dye bath. The ikat resists were then taken off and painted with red, yellow and orange thickened MX dyes. The weft was uneven dyed in a black MX dye bath. Then the supplemental weft with the ikat resists were removed and left the natural color of the yarn. The ends of the front of the piece were braided together to create a interlocked fringe. The fringe along the back was left raw.
