Dunning, John Resistance to change Clothing by Ashley Lamb for Spring 2013 in ART2336. This straight jacket is made from linen that was dyed using a light brown acid dye with a stitch shabori resist. The sleeves were arashi shabori dyed with brown MX dye. On the front, various phrases were screenprinted using a gradient of tan to brown pigments. These phrases represent the various excuses most people make as to why they don't want to change. On the back, in black pigment, words were screenprinted over the phrases. These words symbolize the real reasons people don't want to change. Thus, the naming of this piece, Resistance to change.
