Dunning, John Pinkpoint climbing gear Graphic design by Savannah Rachael Beckler for Fall 2010 in ART3200. Pinkpoint is a line of rock climbing gear for the girly girl who still likes to get her hands dirty. It was created when I realized there was a hole in the market for this kind of a product after seeing some of my friends struggle to find climbing gear they liked, and also noticing the rising trend of women in extreme sports. I came up with the name Pinkpoint because it is a rock climbing term which means the climber must climb the route from the start, without falling or hanging on the rope. I redesigned the shape of the typical chalk container that is being sold, because I found the current packaging was awkward and messy. I wanted to keep the feeling fun, but still keeping it as a reliable piece of equipment.
