All these things will combine to make the remaining five<lb/>

Batting honors, however. W Hit to<lb/>
the Bucs' Jim Snyder, The biu<lb/>
rightfielder clouted two home runs<lb/>
and a double to go three for four.<lb/>
Dennis Burke went only the fir I<lb/>
four innings as Coach Smith wa til-<lb/>
ed to use several pitchers. Burke<lb/>
left with a 1-0 lead as a result of<lb/>
Snyder's first homer in the fourth<lb/>
inning and Mitchell Hughes came<lb/>
on to face the Wolfpack.<lb/>
After six innings, it was still 1-0,<lb/>
but that ended abruptly as State<lb/>
scored six times for a 6-1 lead and<lb/>
went through three Buc pitchers<lb/>
before Vince Colbert finally got the<lb/>
side out.<lb/>
With one out in the seventh,<lb/>
Francis Combs reached Oil an er-<lb/>
ror and Five unloaded the first Of<lb/>
his two homers for a 2- Wolfpack<lb/>
lead.<lb/>
Clem Hulfsniaii walked and that<lb/>
was all for Hughes as Ron Hastings<lb/>
replaced him. Two hits and two<lb/>
runs later, John Weaver replaced<lb/>
the departed Hastings. Two hits<lb/>
and still no outs later, Weaver went<lb/>
to the showers. With the score 5-1,<lb/>
and runners on first and second,<lb/>
Colbert was summoned from the<lb/>
bullpen. A wild pitch moved the<lb/>
runners up and then a passed ball<lb/>
let in the sixth and final run of<lb/>
the inning.<lb/>
East Carolina scored once in their<lb/>
half of the seventh on one of the<lb/>
weirdest plays of the year. Dave<lb/>
Winchester singled and went to third<lb/>
on an error as Roy Taylor reached<lb/>
first. Taylor then advanced on a<lb/>
wild pitch as Winchester held at<lb/>
third.<lb/>
Frye went into his windup, and<lb/>
Tayior took off for third only to<lb/>
see Winchester staring back in<lb/>
wonderment. Colbert ended the<lb/>
prjblem oy hitting a slow bouncer<lb/>
to third, allowing Winchester to<lb/>
score a the State thirdbaseman<lb/>
wondered what to do. Taylor, after<lb/>
seeing Winchester on third, had<lb/>
started back to second and was<lb/>
caught in a rundown as Colbert<lb/>
reached second.<lb/>
Each team added a run in the<lb/>
eighth as Frye hit his second hom-<lb/>

Why A Gant<lb/>
Shirt?<lb/>
Because a Gant shirt is more than some-<lb/>
thing to hang a tie on. It's a stimulant to<lb/>
make you feel good, look good throughout<lb/>
the day.<lb/>
Because a Gant shirt?from its softly flared<lb/>
button-down collar to its trim Hugger body<lb/>
?is tailored with singular precision.<lb/>
Because the fabrics in Gant shirts have<lb/>
elan in a gentlemanly manner; are exclusive<lb/>
and wear superbly.<lb/>
This is why we carry a complete selection of<lb/>
Gant shirts. It's also why men of impec-<lb/>
cable taste come to us for Gant.<lb/>
