Robert Miller, assistant dean of<lb />
men. plans to resign from his po-<lb />
ition at Blast Carolina to become<lb />
market research analyst of the<lb />
Sunoco Co. in Bartsville, SC.<lb />
Miller has served as the assistant<lb />
lean ,ince July 1. 1967 when the<lb />
legislature created the position. Be-<lb />
fore this time, he had served as a<lb />
raduate assistant to Dean Mallory<lb />
while he studied for his M.A. de-<lb />
cree in education in guidance.<lb />
Miller received his A.B. degree in<lb />
business from East Carolina in 1965.<lb />
After his graduation, he worked as<lb />
sales service director of the Sunoco<lb />
construction products division in<lb />
Hartsville, S.C.<lb />
The Sunoco Co. is concerned with<lb />
the production of fiber products.<lb />
Miller's new ,iob will be to investi-<lb />
gate and solve the problems and<lb />
faults of the materials produced.<lb />
Several people are under consid-<lb />
eration to replace Miller. No deci-<lb />

Meymandi was awarded the scien-<lb />
tific medal by the Iranian Depart-<lb />

top scholastic rating in high school<lb />

Arizona State University he served<lb />
as president of the student body<lb />
government of the university.<lb />
He received his medical educa-<lb />
tion at George Washington Univer-<lb />
sity School of Medicine, Washing-<lb />
ton, D.C. and served his psychiatric<lb />
internship at Saint Elizabeth Hos-<lb />
pital, Youngstown, Ohio. From 1963<lb />
until 1966 he was resident psychiat-<lb />
rist at Dorothea Dix Hospital, Ra-<lb />
leigh. He assumed his duties as<lb />
Director of Cumberland County<lb />
Mental Health Center or. July 1,<lb />
1966.<lb />
Recognized in the field oi mental<lb />
health. Dr. Meymandi holds mem-<lb />
bership in the Beta Beta Beta Bio-<lb />
logical Honorary Fraternity, Phi Ki<lb />
Meical Fraternity, and is a mem-<lb />
ber of the American Association<lb />
for the Advancement of Science. He<lb />
was a recipient of the Lederle Lab-<lb />
oratory Medical Student Fellowship<lb />
Award, National Scholarship Foun-<lb />
dation of New York award and nu-<lb />
merous grants from agencies in the<lb />
related field.<lb />

Wait Until Tomorrow . . .<lb />
The first half of Spring Quarter is over, and Easl t 'arolinji<lb />
student-s are heading into the last leg of the 1967-68 academic<lb />
year.<lb />
Tl is mid-point of the thud and final quarter is character-<lb />
ise (1 bj the coming of Sprint' to the Greem ille area, and brings<lb />
with it .i multitude of activities for the student in the remain-<lb />
ing fi e school weeks.<lb />
Fe rante and Teicher, Johnnj Rivers, crew races, track<lb />
meets, I as ball games, Azalea Festival, (Irtek Week, and grad-<lb />
. big on the hoiizon for the upcoming five weeks,<lb />
not to mention beach parties, picnics, and other activities nol<lb />
listed on the campus calendar.<lb />
All these things will combine to make the remaining five<lb />
weeks rather hectic ones for students, as the already fast pad<lb />
of classes increases to meet the pressures of com letin v. irl<lb />
in the small amount of I ime left.<lb />
All too often we as students allow the coming of vvj n<lb />
weather and the many joys it brings to replace our energy and<lb />
sense of achit vement with 1 thargy and apathy, causing us 1"<lb />
rev rt to the old fallacy of "wait until tomorrow And in the<lb />
spac ' five weeks, tomorrows are very scarce commodities.<lb />

The E.C.U. percussion Ensemble<lb />
has beer active in recent weeks<lb />
performing in schools and colleges<lb />
in North Carolina. They have com-<lb />
pleted appearances at Elizabeth<lb />
City State Teachers College, Eliz-<lb />
abeth City, North Carolina and at<lb />
Atlantic Christian College's Festi-<lb />
val of Contemporary Arts.<lb />
In the near future they will be<lb />
appearing at University of North<lb />
Carolina at Chapel Hill on their<lb />
Contemporary Music Festival, East<lb />
Carolina University Contemporary<lb />
Music Festival and will embark on<lb />
a concert tour of the Tidewater<lb />
area of Virginia. Director Jones,<lb />
and this fine group are actively in-<lb />
volved in the presentation of seri-<lb />
ous percussion music to audiences<lb />
