Membership: 5 elected by the Faculty Senate, 3 appointed by the Chancellor, and 1 Student appointed by the Student Government Association. The Committee will elect a chairperson from the faculty members. One of the Chancellor's appointees will be the Faculty NCAA Representative. Ex-officio members (with vote): The Chair of the Faculty, the President of the Alumni Association, and the President of the Pirate Club or their representatives. Ex-officio members (without vote but with all other parliamentary privileges): The Chancellor, the Athletic Director, and the Athletic Academic Coordinator or their representatives, and the President of the Student Government Association. Section 3. Quorum: 5 faculty members, 3 of which must be from the elected faculty members. Section 4.A. Committee Functions Add the following sentence: Primary functions of the Committee are oversight responsibility in the area of academic integrity, compliance with NCAA rules and regulations, and the overall development of student athletes. General issues such as budget, conference matters, fundraising and public relations are inclusive in the charge but not restricted to those cited. To Whom The Committee Reports: The Committee makes recommendations concerning the implementation and administration of policies and procedures pertaining to intercollegiate athletics at East Carolina University to the Chancellor. How Often The Committee Reports: The Committee reports to the Faculty Senate at least once a year and other times as necessary. Power Of The Committee To Act: The Committee makes recommendations concerning the implementation and administration of policies and procedures regarding academic oversight and other matters pertaining to intercollegiate athletics to the Chancellor. @iia Implementation Three members elected by the Faculty Senate will serve 3-year terms and the other two members will serve 2-year terms. Two members appointed by the Chancellor will serve 3-year terms and the other member will serve a 2-year term.
