FEBRUARY 20, 1990

The Chancellor has approved the following Senate resolutions:

#90-1 Recommendation under the category of Human Resources Development in
the "Faculty and Staff Development Implementation Plan"

#90-4 Amendment to the "Guidelines for Setting University Calendars"

#90-5 Amendment to Summer 1990 and Summer 1991 calendar

Special thanks to the following Alternate Senators serving as Tellers today
for the Senate Officers Nominating Committee election:

Martha Lapas, Academic Library Services
Susan McDaniel, Biology

Reminder that election results from any department or school that needs to
fill Senate Representative vacancies are due in the Faculty Senate Office
as soon as possible.

Committee Annual Reports are due in the Faculty Senate Office no later than
Monday, April 30, 1990.

The Career Education Committee is assisting Mr. Bob Mitchell (Resident Hall
Coordinator) in organizing a "Majors Fair" for spring semester. This activity
will be held on the evening of February 26th. from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

in Tyler Hall Lobby.

Thanks to the following faculty members who have recently been appointed to
serve on the Faculty Affairs Committee.

On January 23, 1990, the Faculty Senate approved, for your consideration,
the following resolutions:

Recommendation under the category of Human Resources Development in
the "Faculty and Staff Development Implementation Plan" that an
explicit connection be drawn between the teaching goals specified
in the University Directions document and the implementation
strategies appropriate to these goals.

Amendment to the Guidelines for Setting University Calendars (Attached)

Amendment to Summer 1990 and Summer 1991 calendar (Attached)

The Senate also approved the following resolutions not requiring your approval:

Recommended amendment to the Sexual Harassment Policy
