The Admissions Committee:

-Concidered 247 student appeals.

-~Raised standards for math requirements for incoming freshmen
for the 1989-90 academic year.

-Approved changes in the BFA degree in Dance.

-Approved changes concerning the appeals process.

-Approved changes in admission requirements for B.S. Degree in

-School and Community Health Education.

-Concidered changes in admission requirements for B.S. Degree in
Leisure Systems Studies.

-Participated in search process for Director of Admissions.

-Discussed an alternative test for admission of international
students.

Citation of the resolution numbers of Senate resolutions that
originated with the committee.

1. Evaluation of present retention requirements, with discussion
including representatives of the Student Recruitment and

A brief statement of Committee organization, subcommittees, research activities, etc.

The Committee uses ad-hoc subcommittees to prepare the original drafts of guidelines
and proposed calendars but otherwise functions as a whole. The Committee also
consults with the Registrar, Director of Admissions, Director of Athletics, Office of the
Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, Office of the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs
and the Student Government Association.

List Committee accomplishments including recommendations made to agencies other
than the Faculty Senate.

Prepared and submitted to the Faculty Senate recommended University Calendars for
Summer 1991; Fall Semester 1991; and Spring Semester 1992. (See Dec. 6, 1988 and
March 28, 1989 Agendas for Calendars)
