Ex-officio Membérship of Faculty Senate Academic Committees

Motion:

That the charges of all Faculty Senate Academic Committees, with the exception of
the Educational Policies and Planning Committee, be amended to state that all
ex-officio members of these committees are to serve without vote (but with all
other parliamentary privileges), with the certain exceptions listed below:

On all committees: The Chair of the Faculty or his/her representative.

On the Unit Code Screening Committee: The Chair of Faculty Governance
Committee.

On the Faculty Governance Committee: The Chair of the Unit Code
Screening Committee and the immediate past Chair of the Faculty.

ADDITIONAL FACULTY SALARY DATA

The Faculty Welfare Committee recommends to the Faculty Senate that, in addition
to the Faculty Data approved by the Senate on October 21, 1986, the following data
be included for each chair each year to be used in making salary recommendations.

Prepare a multiple linear regression on faculty salaries to determine predicted
salaries using the following variables:

A) Sex (0=Male, 1=Female)

B) Degree (0=Non-Degree, 1=Doctorate)

C) Rank (1=Professor, 2=Associate Professor, 3=Assistant Professor,
4=Instructor, and 5=Lecturer)

D) Years at ECU

E) Years in Rank

F) Department in Which Faculty Member Resides

NOTE
Data is to be separated for nine month and twelve month faculty.

Salaries of administrators and the faculty of the School of Medicine are to be
excluded from the survey.

The predicted salary and the actual salary for each faculty member is to be
provided to the departmental chair for those faculty in his/her department.

Standard erroy of the multiple regress and the coefficient of multiple
regression, R will be provided to each department chair.
