Candidates for Vice Chair of the Faculty Senate Jo Ann F. Jones, Department of English In addition to being Assistant Professor of English, I am Assistant Dean of the General College. During my long tenure at ECU, I have served in a number of capacities which have given me the opportunity to interact with faculty and administrators, not the least of which has been serving as a Faculty Senator for seven terms. My commitment to faculty participation in University governance is reflected in my extensive committee work both at the departmental and university levels. English Dept. Robert Schellenberger, School of Business I received my Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1963. I am in my 6th year of service to ECU. I have served as a member of the Faculty Senate at ECU, Temple University, and the University of Maryland, as well as holding the position of Chair of the Business School Faculty at Wake Forest University and Temple University. In addition, I have served as the Chair of the Faculty Senate Budget Review Committee at Temple University. I have also held a number of administrative assignments, such as Academic Planner, reporting directly to the Academic Vice President at both Southern Illinois University and Temple University. I have also served as the Chairman of the Management Department at Southern Illinois University and Temple University. Candidates of Secretary of the Faculty Senate James Joyce, Department of Physics For seventeen years, I have served on the faculty of the Physics Department, rising to the rank of professor in 1979. Active in the research areas of atomic physics and biophysics, I have published more than 35 journal articles and 65 abstracts. I served as Director of the ECU Accelerator Laboratory until 1977 and then as Director of Digital Systems for the Physics Dept. Continually active on academic committees, I have served as the Chair of the Faculty Computer Committee for four years and Chair of the Libraries Committee for three years. I have also served on a number of administrative committees including, most notably, as Chair of the Computer Planning Task Force in 78-79 and on search committees for the Director of Joyner Library and for the Director of Computing and Information Systems. I have been Parliamentarian of the Faculty Senate for two years and have now succeeded long-term Carl Adler as Physics Senator. (Incidentally, for those of you who miss Carl, I share three of the four Meyer-Briggs personality traits with Carl. For any of you who do not miss Carl so much, I differ significantly from Carl in the remaining trait.) Belinda Lee, School of Nursing I am committed to active participation and involvement in University service activities. Since joining the School of Nursing in 1972, I have served on many faculty governance and academic committees. I believe the scope of my activities reflects my commitment.
