List of committee accomplishments including recommendations made to agencies other than the Faculty Senate, Committee reviewed the Division of Continuing Education's Annual Report and goals for 1986/87. It received reports on new continuing education programs and on activities of the University College program. Committee was pleased that on-going focus of attention and efforts regarding the need for a sound financial basis for continuing education are resulting in further progress. The Budget Committee of the UNC Faculty Assembly is now studying continuing education program funding on various campuses with the objective of requesting full funding. Committee received status update from the chair of the Committee to Study Extended Campus Library Services, which was the result of a Continuing Education Committee recommendation in the prior year. A questionnaire sent to faculty who teach off campus classes will be analyzed as part of the assessment of library support needs for off- campus credit courses. Committee submitted request to Committee on Committees to change membership and quorum sections of Committee's charge. Major concern of the Committee was with the need for central coordination of all non-credit programs and special activities at ECU. A subcommittee appointed to pursue the issue further prepared a draft which is ready for review and discussion by the Committee as a whole. Citation of the resolution numbers of Senate resolutions that originated with the committee. None Proposals and/or business to be carried over to next year. Committee should follow status of work for a State-supported financial structure for continued progress. Committee should review and discuss draft for final preparation of document on central coordination of non-credit programs and special activities. Committee should follow-up with Committee on Committees on membership and quorum section changes. Committee should keep abreast of work of Committee to Study Extended Campus Library Services.
