CURRICULUM COMMITTEE MINUTES JANUARY 23, 1986 The Curriculum Committee met Thursday, January 23, 1986 at 1:30 p.m. in Brewster B-103, Members present were: Templeton, McMillan, Daugherty, Grossnickle, Wease, Carlton, Topper, Cain (ex-officio).and William Perry and Bryan Lassiter (student members). _ Members absent were: Steele, Hancock, Muller, Yount The minutes of November 14, 1985 were approved with the correction on the first line of page 3 that the sixth word be changed to “Mellon”. The minutes of November 21, 1985 were approved with the correction of the date in line 4 of paragraph 3 to "Spring 1986". Professor Grossnickle moved to remove MUSC 5456. Introduction to Ethnomusicology (2) from the curriculum bank. McMillan seconded. The motion passed, Professor Edgar Loessin presented the request of the Department of Theatre Arts for revisions in the curriculum. The titles of twelve dance courses are to be changed. Thirty new courses are to be added. Eight courses are to be deleted. DNCE 3071 is to change from 2 s.h. to 1 s.h. (See catalogue copy for details) Perry moved to accept the changes as amended. Lassiter seconded. The motion passed. Professors Y. J. Lao and James Robertson presented the request of the Department of Environmental Health to increase the hours for FHLT 3003. Environmental Epidemiology from 2 s.h. to 3 s.h. thereby affecting the hours of both options for rhe B. S. Degree in Environmental Health. McMillan moved to approve the change. Templeton seconded. The motion passed. Professors Edvard Keeter and Barry DuVall presented the School of Technology's request changing the requirements for the BSP Industrial Technology program. (See catalogue copy) Templeton moved to approve the changes. Lassiter seconded. The motion passed. Grossnickle moved that BIOL 5000, 5001, Radiotracer Techniques in Biology (3,0) be removed from the curriculum course bank, McMillan seconded.
