Committee reviewed the Division of Continuing Education's Annual Report and goals for 1985-86. It received reports on enrollment information and projections. Problems regarding funding and library support services were discussed and recommendations made. Inadequate faculty stipends and the high cost of off-campus tuition continue to be of great concern to the conmittee. -2- Committee recommended that the Director of Continuing Education and the Director of Library Services and others develop a process for assessing library support needs for off-campus credit courses. A committee has been formed and is chaired by a Library Services staff member. The Conmittee to Study Extended Campus Library Services will use the remainder of this academic year and the first semester of 1986-87 gathering information and studying the problems. A report will be prepared in the spring of 1987. Telecommunications capability and experiences at ECU were explored. Teleconferences and other possibilities were discussed, and the need for better use of the capabilities that now exist was stressed. Cooperation between the Mathematics and Science Center and the Division of Continuing Education was emphasized. Committee was pleased that despite financial and other problems relating to Continuing Education, enrollment in the University College has increased considerably. Citation of the resolution numbers of Senate resolutions that originated with the committee. None Proposals and/or business to be carried over to next year.
