CURRICULUM COMMITTEE Minutes April 11, 1985 The Curriculum Committee met April 11, 1985, at 1:30 p.m. in Brewster Bq 103. Members present were: Muller, Wease, Ziehr, Topper, Broadhurst, Boyce, McMillan, Hancock, Grossnickle, Daugherty, and Cain (ex officio). Members absent: Templeton. The minutes of March 28, 1985, were corrected to show that Topper was present. The minutes were approved. In clarification of the March 14, 1985, minutes, The Curriculum Committee does not approve or disapprove admission requirements to declare a major. A representative from Geology was not present; therefore, the Geology proposal was postponed. Professors R.B. Keusch and Carl Gooding presented the request of the School of Business to revise the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management concentration and to change the prerequisite for MGMT 4262. Broadhurst moved to approve the proposal as amended. Boyce seconded. The motion passed. Professor Byron Coulter presented the request of the Department of Physics to revise the BS in Physies, BS in Applied Physics, BA in Physics, Physics minor; bank PHYS 1021, 1100; change prerequisites and/or corequisites for PHYS 2250, 2260, 2270, 1011, 4716, 4717. Boyce moved to approve the package. Wease seconded. The motion passed. Professors Larry DuVall and Darryl Davis, Department of Industrial and Technical Education, presented the requested revisions to the BS (Professional) Degree in Industrial Technology. Hancock moved to approve the revisions as amended. Broadhurst seconded. The motion passed. Professor Robert Dough, Department of Science Education, presented the request to add a new course SCIE 5010, Applications of Microcomputers in Teaching Physical Seience (3). McMillan moved to approve the course. Boyce Seconded. The motion passed, Professor Donald Clemens, Department of Chemistry, presented the request for the course CHEM 5103, Seminar (1) and to add it to the required courses in Chemistry for the B.S. Degree. Ziehr moved to approve the proposal. Boyce seconded and the motion passed. Professor Edward Wheatley, Department of Marketing, presented the new courses MKTG 4532, Industrial Marketing (3); MKTG 4462, Retailing Strategy (3); two concentrations: Marketing Management and Retailing Management replacing the present marketing concentration and add prerequisites to MKTG 4562. He stated that no additional staff or cost would be involved. Hancock moved to approve the proposal as amended. Topper seconded. The motion passed. Professors Vila Rosenfeld and Kathryn Kolasa, School of Home Economics, presented the request to add HOME 4410, 4411, 4400; revise 4390; revise BS in Home Economics Education all three options; BS FNIM Major Dietetics Option and Food Service Option; revise and change name of Food and Nutrition Minor to Nutrition Minor; delete Food Service Management Minor; delete HOME 4000 and 4391, They stated that no additional staff or resources were needed.
