CURRICULUM COMMITTEE MINUTES February 28, 1985 The Curriculum Committee met February 28, 1985, at 1:30 p.m. in Brewster B-103. Members present were Hancock, McMillan, Templeton, Daugherty, Gross- nickle, Muller, Topper, Ziehr, Wease, and Broadhurst. Members absent were: Boyce and Cain (ex officio). Professors G. Israel and R. Gantt presented the request of the Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Safety to increase PHYE 4804, Tests and Measurements in Physical Education from 2 to 3 semester hours. Hancock moved to accept the increase in hours. McMillan seconded the motion. The motion passed. Professor Topper presented the changes requested by the School of Music to revise the B.M. in Music Education, to add a new course, MUSC 3691, Introduction to String Teaching (2), to change the catalogue description for MUSC 5647, Orchestral and String Pedagogy (3), and remove MUSC 1635, 2635, 3635, 4635, University Chorale (one each) from the Curriculum Bank. Muller moved to accept the proposal. McMillan seconded and the motion passed. a Professor Ralph Steele presented the request of the Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Safety to designate PRC as LSS and to make the following changes: bank PRC 3000, 3001, 3201, 3302, 4100, 4101, 5600. Change 3002 to 4002 (Adm of Leisure Services), 3102 to 3003, 3103 to 3004, 4201 to 5201 (Leisure Ed in Therapeutic Systems) and from 2 to 3 s.h. 4202 to 5202 and from 2 to 3 s.h. and 4602 to 5602 (Phil, Principles and Pract for Leisure Syst Mgt) and from 2 to 3 s.h.
