The sub-committee consisted of the Director of Admissions, the Committee Chairman, the Vice Chairman and the representative from Continuing Education. The main function of the committee is to serve as an appeals board for students who have not met admissions and/or retention requirements and who have falsified admission documents. In addition, much time has been spent by the full committee discussing committee functions, regulations, revised charge, potential policy changes, appeals procedures, pre-college admissions, Special Talent Waivers, international student admissions and TOEFL requirements for international students. Committee accomplishments including recommendations to agencies other than the Faculty Senate A. The Admissions Committee has acted on appeals from 228 persons durin the 1983-84 academic year. Suggestions for Improving the Effectiveness of the Committee: Allow those who request, to serve a second term on the committee since one term is generally required before members have a clear understanding of catalogue requirements and retention periods as related to admissions. jen eg ey Tom Evans Chairman John Childers Secretary
