Among other activities, the committee was charged with consideration of the charges made in various unit codes because of the adoption of Appendix C. In cases where there was a question about a unit code, a representative of the unit was invited to meet with the committee and discuss the changes in their codes. A subcommittee (Sadler, Haney) was appointed to discuss with Chancellor Howell any references to salary recommendations that might be included in unit codes. Another subcommittee (Sadler, Haney and.Bassman) was appointed to draft a proposal on the definition of voting faculty in Apendices A and L. A third subcommittee (Bassman, Daugherty) Was — appointed to draft’ a recommendation on faculty voting on constitutional & changes. Committee accomplishments : Sent the following unit codes back to units along with the committee's suggestions for changes. (All were later revised by the respective units, resubmitted to the committee and approved.) Nursing 9/30/83 Theatre Arts 9/30/83, 1/20/84 Home Economies 10/21/83 Continuing Education 2/3/84 Approved and sent to the Senate the following revised codes: Aerospace 9/9/83 Technology 10/21 Nursing 11/11 Counseling Center 11/11 History 11/11 Business 2/3/84 Music 2/3 Theatre Arts 2/10 Foreign Languages and Literatures 2/17 Home Economies 2/17 Continuing Education 3/16 Library Science 3/30 Approved and sent to Senate a change in the Senate By-Laws that would allow a unit which is entitled to more than one senator to elect a second alternate. Approved and sent to the Faculty Senate the docutent on Patents and Copyrights. Approved and sent to the Senate an amendment to the Faculty Senate Constitution that would clarify the definition of the General Faculty. Approved and sent to the Senate an amendment to Appendix L changing the definition of a voting faculty person. Approved and sent to the Senate an amendement to Appendix D that would direct that a unit chairperson not participate in a faculty vote on personnel matters. (This proposal was later withdrawn from the Senate because of anticipated problems in amending Appendix D. A Similar stated resolution was then approvved and sent to the Faculty Senate. ; VIII. Citation of resolution number's that originated with the committee: 83=41, -50, -51; 84-5, -6, -11, -7; =15, ~18, -20A, -25, ~26, -27, -28. IX. Consideration of the remaining unit codes. 2 X.
