Moore 30 August 1982 Dates of Report to Faculty Senate 21 September 1982 19 April 1983 In April the Committee identified three potential recipients of Summer Grants, as instructed by Senate Chair Ayers. Committee Organization: On all matters, including funding awards, committee acts traditionally, i.e., each member functions individually with one vote, and is responsible for reading and evaluating proposals. The Committee recommended eighteen proposals for funding by the Vice Chancellor, of thirty-four proposals submitted by faculty during Fall semester 1982. Committee accomplishments (continued) Se Prior to and after proposal review, the Committee drew up the grant proposal criteria, application form, and guidelines. The Committee also submitted to the Committee for Teaching Effectivenes an analysis of faculty needs (as evinced by funding proposals). VIII. None. IX. The Committee needs to finally approve the (second) revision of the application form and format, guidelines and criteria statement. Sand XI. Two recommendations, one already under consideration by the Faculty Senate, would enhance committee effectiveness: First, reduce the quorum required from nine to eight. Second, separate funds of this committee from the annual expenses of the Student Opinion Sruvey and from the Committee for Teaching Effectiveness. Singed: Chairperson Secretary
