VI. Committee Organization
No standing committee
Ad hoc committee to study professional education program for secondary
education majors was appointed.

Committee's Accomplishments

A. Studied and recommended a revised professional education component
of the secondary teacher education program.

Continued working on the proposed Quality Assurance Program.

Studied, approved, or recommended revisions in teacher education
courses or programs from all units submitting proposals to the teacher
education committee (Re: to committee minutes).

Evaluation of Committee

A. Structure: The committee needs a representative from each unit with
a teacher education program.

Duties: Satisfactory.
Functions: Satisfactory.

Suggestions for Improving the Effectiveness of the Committee

At a special call meeting, May 25, 1983, the Teacher Education Committee
voted to recommend that the present Teacher Education Committee be dissolved
and that the proposed Council for Teacher Education be implemented.
