None A brief statement of committee organization, subcommittees, research activities, etc. Wes Crawley, chair Betty Levey, vice chair Threese Lawler, secretary List of committee accomplishments including recommendations made to agencies other than the Faculty Senate Faculty stipend and tuition rates were discussed. Tuition rates were increased to $45 per semester hour for undergraduate credit and to $50 per semester hour for graduate credit. Faculty stipends were increased by 20% beginning fall, 1983. Evaluation procedures were considered. No action was proposed. A campus-wide survey was conducted to determine if departments and schools were interested in offering degree programs during evening hours. Twenty-six units responded to the survey. Seven of the 26 reporting units indicate interest in investigating the possibility of offering sufficient. courses for a major during evening hours. Twenty-one of the reporting units .indicate an interest in offering more courses during evening hours, even though they may not be able to offer sufficient courses for a major. The committee proposed that a newsletter be published by the Division of Continuing Education. A plan has been developed and the newsletter will be published once each semester. VIII. Citation of Senate resolutions that originated with the committee. None IX. Proposals and/or business to be carried over to next year. The Continuing Education Committee suggests that Dr. James L. Smith present the results of the survey on degree programs during evening hours to the Faculty Senate and to the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. It was further suggested that a task force be appointed to conduct a feasibility study, including a needs assessment, to determine what degree programs.are needed during a evening hours and suggest strategies for implementing the findings. The student member of the committee should be designated early in the fall semester. The student member for 1982-83 was designated on March 31, 1983, with only one meeting remaining on our schedule.
