A brief statement: of committee organization, subcommittees, research activities, etc.: Normal organization. The March 21 meeting recessed several times in order for the committee members to check out the availability of certain persons for some of the academic committees. List of committee accomplishments including recommendations made to agencies other than the Faculty Senate: September 21, 1982: The committee presented nominations for the University Athletic Committee and the University Facilities Committee. The nominations, as amended in the Senate, were accepted (see Faculty Senate Minutes of September 21, 1982). November 16, 1982: Recommended changes in seven committee titles. The Senate voted to recommit the proposed titles to the Committee on Committees. December 7, 1982: Revised charge of the Teacher Education Committee January 25, 1983: 1) Revised charge of the Course Drop Appeals Committee 2) The committee presented nominations for the Honorary Degree Committee; the nominations were accepted by the Senate. 3) Recommended changes in committee titles: a. Committee on Educational Policies and Planning to “Educational Policies and Planning Committee" b. Committee for Teaching Effectiveness to "Teaching Effectiveness Committee" c. University Computer Committee to "Faculty Computer Committee" d. University Research Committee to "Faculty Research/Creative Activity Committee" e. University Libraries Committee to "Libraries Committee" f. University Teaching Grants Committee to "Teaching Grants Committee" g. University Curriculum Committee to "Curriculum Committee" February 15, 1983: The committee presented three nominations for the University Parking and Traffic Committee. The nominations were accepted by the Senate. April 19, 1983: Recommended change in the required quorum of the Teaching Grants Committee~-requires second reading and vote in September, 1983. April 20, 1983: The committee presented nominations for the 1983-1984 Faculty Academic * Committees. The nominations, as amended in the Senate, were accepted (See Faculty Senate Minutes of April 21, 1983). Citation of the resolution numbers of Senate resolutions that originated with the committee. None Proposals and/or business to be carried over to next year: Change in the quorum of the Teaching Grants Committee (requires second reading in Faculty Senate in September 1983). Election of permanent members to the Academic Integrity Board. Request from Acting Director of Library that someone from Joyner Library serve as a member of the Teacher Education Committee.
