Constitutional Amendments The Faculty Governance Committee recommends the following revisions in the a Constitution of the Faculty Senate: β€œ(1) Revise the first sentence of the second paragraph of Section II to read: "The General Faculty shall have as its presiding officer the Chairman of the Faculty, who shall be responsible for calling its meetings and for keeping a record of its proceedings." ~(2) Delete the second sentence of the second paragraph of Section II. ~ (3) Revise Section III by replacing "Vice Chancellor for Administration and Planning" in line 3 with ""appropriate Vice Chancellor." β€œ (4) Revise Section IV by deleting "the Vice Chancellor for Administration and Planning," in line 2, and by replacing β€œor upon petition to the Vice Chancellor for Administration and Planning" with "or upon petition to the Chancellor." v (5) Delete "Vice Chancellor for Administration and Planning" from the fifth paragraph of Section V, third line. Agenda 5C: A Resolution from the University Libraries Committee: WHEREAS, library materials are a vital and expensive resource used in support of the University's programs, and WHEREAS, a considerable number of these resources are borrowed by faculty and E other persons and neither returned nor renewed, and WHEREAS, requests by the library that faculty and other persons return certain - long over-due materials have been unsuccessful, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Faculty Senate recommend that the University administration assist the library in its efforts to obtain the return of library appropriate. Item 5D: Career Education The Career Education Committee recommends that each unit designate a member of the unit to exercise responsibility in arranging career education activities.
