New Business *The campus attorneys of the constituent institutions met September 28, 1982, to discuss grievance procedures. Since the training sessions recom- mended by the Faculty Assembly Resolution of last April are being planned, it is possible that the broader subject of grievance procedures may also be addressed. The Committee recommends a postponement of action on their report for a reasonable period of time. A delay in consideration of the report would also allow individuals and units to suggest changes for the committee to consider. **Action on the Report of the ad hoc Grievance Procedures Committee may, therefore, be premature. Agenda Item 44.1 Credits Committee ae The changes which follow are found in the Academic Regulations section of the 1982-84 catalogue, pages 51 through 65: Page 55 Current Policy: ; Students transferring from other colleges who desire to substitute courses taken elsewhere for courses prescribed at the University must submit such petition prior to enrollment for their first semester at the University. PLEASE BRING THIS WITH YOU TO THE OCTOBER 12, 1982 FACULTY SENATE MEETING Agenda Item 6A: Item for Consideration under New Business I have been informed by the Office of Institutional Research that several units have inquired concerning the availability of information obtained in the Survey of Student Opinion of Instruction to be conducted by that office during November, 19382. Institutional Research can obtain the following additional information if the faculty chooses, (1) Summary of all student survey information for the combined classes of each individual instructor. (This information, if obtained, would be sent to each instructor and to the immediate administrative superior. It must be done for all faculty or for none.) (2) Summary of student survey for all classes in the unit. If approved by the Senate, this information would be furnished only those units requesting the information. (3) Summary of student survey for the entire institution. If approved by the Senate, this information would be furnished to those units requesting the information, (4) A research data set could be provided to requesting units where 100% of the instructor and course identification had been stripped. There would be an indicator of the level of the class. This information would be furnished on tape to the requesting units only. I have been asked to remind the faculty that the questionnaire prepared for use by Institutional Research is not designed for individual use and may not be used apart from the University Evaluation. A resolution must be passed at the October 12, 1982 Meeting of the Faculty Senate if the information is to be obtained from the survey this fall,
