UNIVERSITY CURRICULUM COMMITTEE MINUTES *» September 9, 1982 The University Curriculum Committee met on September 9, 1982, in Brewster B-103 at 1:00 p.m. Members present: Grossnickle, Daugherty; Holt, Moore, Hancock, Ziehr, Muller, O'Rear, Topper and Cain (ex officio). Members absent: Hamilton, Broadhurst. _ The minutes of August 27, 1982, were approved as written. The minutes of March 22, 1982, were approved with the following correction, | on the sixth line from the bottom of the page change "revised" to “new. The sentence should read "A proposal for a new B.S. minor in Mathematics was presented, " Professor Harry Baxley presented the School of Art's proposal to change ART 2412--Interior Design Graphics from 2 s.h. to 3 s.h. and ART 4421--Seminar in Contemporary Concepts from 3 s.h. to 2 s-h. E Professor Cain moved the changes be approved; Holt seconded. The motion passed. Professor Martin Schwarz, Chairman of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures presented the request that FREN 5521--Special Topics in French Studies, GERM 5521--Selected Topics, and SPAN 5521-- Special Topics in Hispanic Studies may be repeated once with change of topic. Professor Holt moved the approval of this request. Professor Moore seconded. The motion passed. Professors Connie Tindel and Leonard Lilley of the School of Education presented the course EDAD 5307--Proposal Writing for Grants and Contracts. It was pointed out that the unit head's signature was not on B.5 of the proposal indicating his awareness of the resource requirements necessary for the course. Since there was no indication of any needed additional resources, the committee was assured the unit head Dr. Warner was aware of the statement. Professor Muller moved the course be approved without prejudice to other departments, Ziehr seconded. The motion passed. Professor Fred Ragan, Department of History and Professor Wes Hankins, Department of Geography and Planning presented PLAN 5985-~ Historic Preservation Planning and HIST 5985--Historic Preservation Planning for crosslisting. A letter stating agreement between the departments to team teach the course by a member of the faculty from both departments was attached. The course will be added to the electives available in the Historical Preservation and Museum Administration Minor and to the Planning Electives for the B.S. Degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Professor Hankins also presented PLAN 3018, 3028, 3038--Plan- ning Internship. These courses are to also be added to the Planning electives of the B.S. Degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Professor Hancock moved the approval of this package as amended. Ziehr seconded the motion. The motion passed.
