Dear Tom:

I approve all of the items listed in your letter of March 8, 1982 with
the proviso that I want to make it clear that approval of "as approved by the
Chancellor" in 82-11 does not imply approval of the language in the paragraph
which now contains that phrase and which suggest that student opinion surveys
are optional. This proviso is probably redundant since a subsequent Senate

amended that language.
