A petition was submitted to the Chair of the Faculty dated
October 22, 1981, with sufficient signatures according to
Section IX of the Constitution of the Faculty Senate, request
ing a meeting at the earliest possible date with the Chairman
of East Carolina University Board of Trustees, Mr. Ashley

B. Futrell; the Executive Secretary of the Chancellor Selection
Committee, Dr. Joseph Boyette; and faculty representatives.

Mr. Futrell has agreed to meet with the Faculty Senate on

Tuesday, November 3, 1981, in Mendenhall 221, at 3 p.m. for

the purpose of discussing the Chancellor search process. *:

Dr. Boyette and the faculty representatives have also agreed

to be present.
