October 2, 1981 To: Members of the Faculty Senate From: Bill Grossnickle Re: Search Committee for the New Chancellor Attached is the resumé of Professor Rosina Lao. On Tuesday I plan to nominate Rosina for the Search Committee. You will note from the attached resumé that she has gained a wide knowledge of the University's functions. She has served as Vice Chairman of the Senate, Chairperson of two Task Forces, member of a Subcommission, served on the Search Committees for the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Dean for the College of Arts and Sciences, and, as you know, she recently completed ay ACE Fellowship. I believe that Rosina understands the trends and needs of higher education and how they should be applied to ECU. While she believes in the importance of teaching, research/creative activity, and service, Rosina also believes that there is more than one way to do a job well. She builds on a person's strengths and does not dwell on weaknesses. I will appreciate your support. Attachment. ROSINA C.
