Committee accomplishments and recommendations to agencies other than the Faculty Senate: The committee is advisory to the Chancellor... It made the following recommendations: 1. Each academic unit shall. specify procedures by which its faculty. consult with the unit head regarding the budget process. 2. The conferral of an honorary degree shall be. considered and approved by the Graduate Council and its appropriate committees and the Faculty Senate and its appropriate committees. The Sixth Year Program in Counselor Education should require .a foreign or working language. The University Facilities should be kept informed of planning for a new classroom building. The Committee reviewed the following planning proposals: Rural Education Institute ! . Bo Authorization to establish a Sixth Year Program in Counselor Education Authorization to establish a Sixth Year Program in Home Economics Education Authorization to plan Graduate Degree Program in Biotechnology Authorization to plan Undergraduate Degree Program in Biotechnology Authorization to plan Bachelor of General Studies Senate resolutions originating with the committee: None Proposals and/or business to be carried over to next year: None Evaluation of the Committee: A. Structure: appropriate to the charge of the Committee. B. Duties: appear to be well defined in charge. C. Functions: appropriate to the charge of the committee. D. Personnel: members served responsibly. Suggestions for impYoving the effectiveness of the committee: A representative of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs met with ca the committee during the consideration of planning proposals.
