Revised Charge of the UNIVERSITY CURRICULUM COMMITTEE
December 16, 1980

1. University Curriculum Committee

2. Membership: 11 faculty members and two student members, and ex officio
the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs or an appointed representative
and the-Director-of-Library-Services» shatl-serve as~an ex officio member.

Quorum: 7 elected faculty members

A. The University Curriculum Committee is concerned with undergraduate
courses and programs. It has the responsibility of assuring the
high quality of course offerings. It presents to the Faculty Senate,
for its approval, policies for determining the acceptability of
programs and courses. It reviews new courses and program proposals
and modifications of existing programs presented to the Committee
by the academic units. It MMM reviewsproposals regarding changes
in the general education requirements presented to it by the General
College Committee, and si@™M& make} a recommendation regarding the
proposals. It reviews policies for the banking or deletion of
courses and programs.

The Committee reports to the Faculty Senate.

The Committee reports to the Faculty Senate as often as necessary,
but at least once a year.

FACULTY WELFARE COMMITTEE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, we the faculty and-steff of ECU appreciate the years of
unselfish and dedicated service rendered by those who have
preceded us and;

WHEREAS, many of these people were instrumental in securing the fringe
benefits we now enjoy and;

WHEREAS, they continue to make a contribution through their very presence,
expertise and inspiration; therefore, be it

RESOLVED: that faculty and staff members who are retired from ECU be
accorded certain privileges, to wit:

1. Make parking permits available at reduced rate

2. Furnish a permanent IC/Activity card

3. Make tickets for athletic events available at half-price
(same as faculty)

4, Make concert/dinner theatre tickets available at faculty prices

5. Continue to include (if possible) retirees in group insurance
coverage

dy 6. Honor all retirees each year with a reception hosted by the

7. Provide for each retiree at time of retirement a Retirees

Recognition Package which will include the information/items
above.
