Mr. Loessin had a schedule conflict in fall semester which could not be avoided. Date of reports to the Faculty Senate: None Specific instructions by the Faculty Senate: None Statement of Committee organization, Subcommittees, etc. The Committee consists of six faculty members, one student member and ex officio: Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs or his appointed representative, Vice Chancellor for Student Life, Director of Financial Annual Report of the Student Scholarships, Fellowships, and Financial Aid Committee Page 2 May 15, 1981 Aid, Danforth and Woodrow Wilson Representative. (The makeup of the Committee was changed during the year with the revised charge.) Committee Accomplishments: A. Implemented the "Guidelines for Awarding Undergraduate School, College or Departmental Scholarships." B. Approved recommended scholarship recipients in a number of units, including School of Business, School of Art, University Club and Departments of: Speech and Drama, MathematicSand History. Approved Athletic Grants-in-Aid as recommended by the Athletic Department. Heard and acted on appeals from two student athletes. Heard and acted on an appeal from a student recipient of financial aid. Advised and assisted the Athletic Department in revising and improving the Athletic Grant-in-Aid agreement. Studied the Work-Study Program and recommended a policy for same to the Director of Financial Aid. Structure: Changes in the structure as approved by the Senate recently will aid the work of the committee B. Duties: The duites as defined by the revised charge should assist in the effectiveness of the committee. C. Functions: Good D. Personnel: Excellent.
