If up <lb/>

pointed ladies. <lb/>
When the carpet comes up will he <lb/>

Greenville ought w have a hoard <lb/>
of trade representing all the business <lb/>
interests of the <lb/>
The Atlanta woman seems very <lb/>
proud that Mr. Carnegie kissed her, <lb/>
but other don't look at it that <lb/>
way. <lb/>
Those wanted to <lb/>
cure the Seaboard Air Line shops <lb/>
can now talk about what they did <lb/>
not get., <lb/>
When our <lb/>
are made jokes from <lb/>
the stage, it is time the was up <lb/>
and doing. <lb/>
That tired feeling is not particular <lb/>
about whom it strikes, but we would <lb/>
feel more lice writing if it <lb/>
had skipped us <lb/>
The next thing with the Greene <lb/>
and ease is to see what the <lb/>
jury will do with it. After many <lb/>
mm testimony the <lb/>
has at last got the case. <lb/>
Raleigh gets the teachers and <lb/>
Greensboro nets the convention, so <lb/>
both can have something to talk <lb/>
about and call even. <lb/>
A man remarked that <lb/>
The Daily w mid have to <lb/>
again if its pat- <lb/>
keeps growing. It is getting <lb/>
to look that and we will keep <lb/>
in line to meet the requirements. <lb/>
There will soon grass <lb/>
for the signs. <lb/>
Pie note that Missouri hanging <lb/>
and burning did not in the <lb/>
South. <lb/>
notice one which <lb/>
classifies items puts its rink <lb/>
news tinker society notes That is <lb/>
not bad. for far our <lb/>
skating rink knowledge goes they <lb/>
all thee. <lb/>
That the mail subsidy won by only <lb/>
a majority of three votes shows n <lb/>
crowing sentiment against it. <lb/>
The Reflector acknowledges an <lb/>
invitation to the inauguration of <lb/>

Greene and Gaynor stole over half <lb/>
a million apiece and got four year <lb/>

dollar forgery the sentence might <lb/>
have been longer. <lb/>
The man who starts out to have <lb/>
some building done now runs pp <lb/>
against something. The price if <lb/>
lumber is several times higher than <lb/>
it was a few years ago. <lb/>
In a few days more the sheriff will <lb/>
not be troubling himself about col- <lb/>
poll taxes. It will then be <lb/>
up between you and the ballot box <lb/>
if yours is not paid. <lb/>
Charlotte thinks nothing is too <lb/>
good for liar 20th of May <lb/>
and speaks out accordingly. <lb/>
And Charlotte is right. If it wasn't <lb/>
too far to walk We'd go ourself. <lb/>
The man a prospectus of a <lb/>

The Home Building and Loan As- <lb/>
of Greenville is well <lb/>
Those chosen to m. it- <lb/>
affairs are men of known business <lb/>
and entitled to the fullest <lb/>
confidence of the public Now let <lb/>
all work together to make it e <lb/>
greatest aid to develop- <lb/>
the town has ever Ltd. <lb/>
Congressman John II Small may <lb/>
be conscientious in his advocacy of <lb/>
an appropriation for the fast mail on <lb/>
he Southern railway, but we believe <lb/>
his position is wrong and regret that <lb/>
he is on that side of the question. <lb/>
He is prompted by a desire to do all <lb/>
he can for the South, but win <lb/>
this leads to the payment of a sub- <lb/>
it is wrong The fast mail is a <lb/>
good thing for the immediate sec- <lb/>
through which it operates, but <lb/>
the government pays entirely too <lb/>
much for such a service <lb/>
Greenville has organized a build <lb/>
and loan association and it s ill <lb/>
mean for the just what the <lb/>
town makes of it. These things do <lb/>
not run themselves Durham Her- <lb/>
The Herald is right. The <lb/>
is not going to run itself, but <lb/>
the people must make it run. That <lb/>
is just what has started <lb/>
out to do with her association, make <lb/>
something for the <lb/>
town and not merely d rag along. <lb/>
Still it is a timely warning it <lb/>
will mean for the what the <lb/>
town makes It- <lb/>
Mr is out expressing <lb/>
indignation over that Atlanta kiss- <lb/>
affair He says the women are <lb/>
to blame, having done all <lb/>
the kissing themselves, and he had <lb/>
to raise a protest against more of it. <lb/>
The matter g-is worse. <lb/>
If it gets much worse Congress <lb/>
might convert itself in a prize ring <lb/>
and let the have it out <lb/>
with their fists r la Sullivan and <lb/>
A little advance <lb/>
of such a bout would fill the gal- <lb/>
at good prices and the fund <lb/>
might go to help swell subsidy <lb/>
man says not ten women to <lb/>

if they could make a better showing. <lb/>

women as the women were looking <lb/>

Every once inn while some fellow <lb/>
bobs up to dispute the fact that An- <lb/>

ashes in the least, nor <lb/>
giving much concern to the State of <lb/>
his birth. Hut the would-be wise <lb/>

Our Clothes have made for us a mighty host of friends in the vicinity w <lb/>
will gladly testify to their goodness. There's just one thing we would like to ht <lb/>
you in some day and spend ten minutes looking over this Spring <lb/>
That's all. <lb/>
Common respect for honesty <lb/>
should lead to a recount of the vote <lb/>
on, the mail subsidy in Congress. It <lb/>
was only claimed to have been car <lb/>
by votes, and later <lb/>
oped that these were wrong- <lb/>
fully counted, which brings the <lb/>
margin down to one- It looks too <lb/>
much like there might have been <lb/>
fraud in the matter, and Congress <lb/>
should hasten to clear its skirts of <lb/>
even, a shadow of suspicion. <lb/>
That man Hodges, at Durham, <lb/>
who so brutally murdered his wife a <lb/>
few days ago and boasted of bis <lb/>
crime, has begun to wake up and <lb/>
take notice. The Durham papers <lb/>
say be has now decided to employ <lb/>
counsel for his defense. He is one <lb/>
man any lawyer ought to be too hon <lb/>
est to defend. He is hardly worthy <lb/>
a trial. <lb/>
Is North Carolina doing anything <lb/>
toward having a creditable exhibit <lb/>
at the Jamestown Exposition next <lb/>

with the fact that Norfolk is so <lb/>
made up of our folks that <lb/>
it will be almost our exposition any <lb/>

THE FOR MAY. <lb/>
The May with a <lb/>
complete display, pictorial and <lb/>
descriptive, of the latest Spring <lb/>
fashions, contains a wealth of <lb/>
suggestion for those who wish <lb/>
to be smartly gowned, and many <lb/>
other features of interest to <lb/>
women. Hon. Justice David J. <lb/>
Brewer contributes an article <lb/>
on in the <lb/>
in which he comments on the <lb/>
significance of the fact that the <lb/>
status of women has changed in <lb/>
the last half century. Miss <lb/>

In <lb/>

the popular air, and <lb/>
in an interesting historical <lb/>
sketch of Annapolis. Hester D. <lb/>

romantic interest to the <lb/>
where the body of John <lb/>
Paul Jones is to rest. Florence <lb/>

in playing roles <lb/>

features to delight young folks, <lb/>
including a chapter in the serial, <lb/>
and and <lb/>

Mary Abel writes of <lb/>
coloring matters and <lb/>

suggestions for the kitchen with <lb/>
many other helpful hints to the <lb/>
housewife. <lb/>
