No, brother, we have not gone <lb/>
that far West yet, and propose <lb/>
to keep the Reflector filing <lb/>
right here in Pitt, the banner <lb/>

falling with the Re <lb/>

weeks ago in reference to taking <lb/>
the Congressional candidate <lb/>
from Hertford. The Edenton <lb/>

Mr. Corcoran, one of the <lb/>
greatest philanthropists this <lb/>
country has ever known, died at <lb/>
his home in Washington, D. C, <lb/>
on last Friday morning a week <lb/>
ago. He was a great and good <lb/>
man, one whose generosity knew <lb/>
no bounds. He was indeed a <lb/>
public benefactor, and the many <lb/>
noble deeds performed will keep <lb/>
his memory ever fresh in the <lb/>

troubles the Democrats <lb/>
facto and figures. They can beat <lb/>
the word at lying, and they <lb/>
never let the people get all the <lb/>
facts if they can help <lb/>
from a Utter in Raleigh Signal. <lb/>
No doubt this poor little <lb/>
teas constrained to offer <lb/>
congratulations to Loge on <lb/>
the strength of that <lb/>
paper. -We imagine the con- <lb/>
under such circumstances <lb/>
must have been so great as to <lb/>
throw the author of the foregoing <lb/>
lines into a tit of nervous pros- <lb/>
for they are indeed <lb/>
melancholy in tone, and <lb/>
cal in the extreme. Wonder <lb/>
what he thought of Bro. Daniel's <lb/>
resume of the finances under <lb/>
Democratic and Republican ad <lb/>
ministrations It does trouble the <lb/>
Democrats a great deal to get <lb/>
at the and which <lb/>
the radicals smuggled when in <lb/>
power to hide their corruption <lb/>
and villainy. fa ts are <lb/>
these The rads plundered the <lb/>
public treasury, and stole the <lb/>
people's money, and tried to con <lb/>
these facts from the public ; <lb/>
but will. out. But the <lb/>
rads have become so hardened in <lb/>
iniquity, and are so far beyond <lb/>
any compunctions of conscience, <lb/>
that it trouble them a <lb/>
Their cry to the people now <lb/>
us in office again, and <lb/>
let us steal some more. It's <lb/>
been so long since we've had a <lb/>
chance, that we are growing rest- <lb/>
less and things <lb/>
we can't offer you any sympathy, <lb/>
further than to assure you that <lb/>
you and your party will die <lb/>
without even so much as getting <lb/>
a nibble. And as for Democrats <lb/>
leading the country in lying, this <lb/>
charge, emanating from the <lb/>
source it does, renders it very <lb/>
amusing. It is natural for a con- <lb/>
firmed liar to place every one <lb/>
else in the category with him- <lb/>
self. He tries to invent <lb/>
for himself. But he is sever- <lb/>
shades too Dark to establish <lb/>
kinship, with a Democrat. The <lb/>
time is not very far remote when <lb/>
the radicals will be greatly <lb/>
troubled over and <lb/>
It will take an ordinary creature <lb/>
like the author of the above par- <lb/>
several weeks to figure <lb/>
out the Democratic majority in <lb/>
the State in November next. <lb/>

Another republican boomerang. <lb/>
It will be remembered that early <lb/>

The signified intention on the <lb/>
part of Henry George to support <lb/>
Grover Cleveland in the coming <lb/>

the shadow of a doubt. <lb/>
The Democratic party in New <lb/>

It has a clear Democratic <lb/>

The <lb/>
cans have about abandoned all <lb/>
hope of carrying that State, and <lb/>
intend to bend their energies <lb/>
and lavish their money to carry <lb/>
one or two Southern States ; but <lb/>
they are leading a forlorn hope. <lb/>
Blaine withdrew from the race <lb/>
because he saw that defeat await- <lb/>
ed the Republican cause, and <lb/>
now all the Republicans are <lb/>
beginning to open their eyes to <lb/>
the bitter fact. Since the with <lb/>
of their leader they stand <lb/>
bewildered over their <lb/>
and hopeless condition. <lb/>
They try to put on a good face <lb/>
and shout for their party, but it <lb/>
is nothing less than the frantic <lb/>
effort of a dying cause, They <lb/>
know that Grover Cleveland will <lb/>
have a virtual walk over in the <lb/>
race for President. Nothing can <lb/>

Washington, D C, Mar. 2nd, <lb/>
Hon. Samuel J. Randall made a <lb/>
few remarks in the House on Wed- <lb/>
which secured turn a round <lb/>
of hearty applause from the Demo- <lb/>
side and from the galleries. <lb/>
It was during the discussion on <lb/>
Mr. Mill's resolution authorizing <lb/>
the Secretary of the Treasury to <lb/>
purchase bonds with the surplus, <lb/>
which discussion, by the way, was <lb/>
the moat interesting thus far of the <lb/>
session. The tenor of Kendall's <lb/>
remarks was such that little doubt <lb/>
remains that he will support the <lb/>
which proposed <lb/>
the of the ways and <lb/>

saying that he hoped and believed <lb/>
that the democratic party would <lb/>
at the proper time be found acting <lb/>

form and the paper will contain <lb/>
its full proportion reading mat- <lb/>
was ready for planting we be- <lb/>
the farm Mr. Richard <lb/>
Carr presented best appear- <lb/>
of any along t he route. Ho is a <lb/>
practical farmer. Something that <lb/>
caught our eye at Mrs. Susan E. <lb/>
Patrick's plantation besides the <lb/>
condition of her farm was <lb/>
hales of- cotton of lust crop <lb/>
standing in her yard. This shows <lb/>
that she is no novice in the man- <lb/>
age of a farm. At every <lb/>
farm near the road were <lb/>
of much good work. There <lb/>
is an old saying that every journey <lb/>
has its obstacles, and the one <lb/>
this trip was encountered before <lb/>
leaching Snow Hill. A span of <lb/>
bridge had been taken <lb/>
early that morning for a steamer <lb/>
up the creek and was not <lb/>
tone replaced, until the steamer <lb/>
returned, thus necessitating our <lb/>
entry into the being made <lb/>
across a piece of timber one <lb/>
of which rested on either side of <lb/>
the arch. But we got there and <lb/>
Snow Hill quiet with but <lb/>
little going on. The best <lb/>
feature noticed w the entire ab- <lb/>
whiskey that being a <lb/>
dry no drunken- <lb/>
or disturbances could be seen, <lb/>
the people seemed gratified that <lb/>
improvements upon the <lb/>
made navigation possible <lb/>
for miles up the stream. <lb/>
One tact greatly regretted that we <lb/>
learned was that Rev. w. J. <lb/>
since bis decision to suspend <lb/>

the State would leave <lb/>
