A card shuffling machine has been <lb/>
Invented by It. P. Bellows of Cleve- <lb/>
land. It should make business poor <lb/>
for crooked card players. The de- <lb/>
vice is complicated, yet simple its <lb/>
action. <lb/>
The shuffling machine is a metal <lb/>
box about IS inches high, <lb/>
wide and C inches from front to <lb/>
back. All the mechanism is inside. <lb/>
The cards are dropped in at the top <lb/>
and rest on a tiny shelf. Below <lb/>
this there are five small fingers, ore <lb/>
en each of five, thin steel blades ex- <lb/>
tending across the full width of the <lb/>
machine. When a shatter on the <lb/>
front is dropped, the shelf falls <lb/>
the cards drop upon the blades and <lb/>
arc separated into live little <lb/>
bunches by Hie . . The <lb/>
blades separate, and one by one <lb/>
cards drop from the various hunches <lb/>
into a receptacle at the bottom, the <lb/>
drop being regulated by a clock- <lb/>
work mechanism. <lb/>
There is now way of telling where <lb/>
any particular card will he found <lb/>
in the pack after they are shuffled. <lb/>
The same card, placed on the top <lb/>
of the pack, will rarely be found <lb/>
twice in the same place after the <lb/>
Inter Ocean. <lb/>

Sulphuric Acid For Snake Bites, <lb/>
Those who fear snakes or live <lb/>
where snakes are found will find <lb/>

left hand to make necessary <lb/>
