complained because I enforced <lb />

the Town has not been done. In a <lb />
growing town like It is <lb />
not possible to do all things needed <lb />
at once without imposing grievous <lb />
burdens upon the tax payers of the <lb />
Town. Hut I can truly say that I <lb />

Beautiful Ceremony. <lb />
The Senior Class. at <lb />
assembly period, held the exercises <lb />
for planting their tree. The class of <lb />
institute the beautiful custom of <lb />
planting a tree on the campus and each <lb />
subsequent class has followed this <lb />
precedent. The class this year <lb />
ed to plant not one but two. They <lb />
i hose a tee famous in history, the fir, <lb />
and planted one on each side of the <lb />
driveway that leads up to the <lb />
Building. <lb />
Just before the program on the <lb />
campus the class gave its annual as- <lb />
exercises in the auditorium. <lb />
There was nothing of bookish <lb />
about either of the programs but <lb />
instead they savored tn a great extent <lb />
of the wit and originality of the class. <lb />
Two numbers of the assembly <lb />
deserves especial attention, <lb />
Experience in in which the <lb />
various problems that actually con- <lb />
front a teacher were met and disposed <lb />
of one way or another. It made the <lb />
satire delightful to see a young <lb />
girl giving reminiscences of <lb />
the work as a leader in bringing school <lb />
and community together. Another de- <lb />
piece of satire was entitled <lb />
to the in this the I <lb />
Juniors were warned to steer clear <lb />
the troubles that have beset the path <lb />
of the Seniors. In case how- <lb />
ever the Seniors positively asserted <lb />
their innocence. <lb />
For example, acquire the habit <lb />
of appearing in borrowed <lb />
The class responded in resounding <lb />
never <lb />
As the Seniors sang their class song <lb />
the audience marched out to the front <lb />
campus where the trees were to be <lb />
planted. Then the class followed and <lb />
gathered around the trees. <lb />
The planting was an impressive <lb />
scene. The president of the class and <lb />
the class adviser were the first to de- <lb />
posit their colors in the earth and to <lb />
throw around the roots of the trees <lb />
a bit of dirt with the sacred spade <lb />
that is preserved as a trusted relic <lb />
by each succeeding class. <lb />
Each member of the class assisted <lb />
In planting the trees by throwing a <lb />
shovelful of dirt around them. As <lb />
each girl stepped throw- <lb />
in the dirt she threw in a bow of <lb />
green and white class <lb />
with the dirt. As she turn- <lb />
ed to leave the tree she spoke some <lb />
parting words of good wishes, as <lb />
your beauty ever adorn the entrance <lb />
to our Alma <lb />
After the planting, the president of <lb />
the class in well chosen words <lb />
the trees to President Wright <lb />
who received them in his usual apt <lb />
manner. Then the historical spade <lb />
which was used in breaking the first <lb />
ground for the Training School <lb />
which has been the instrument of <lb />
planting four beautiful trees on Its <lb />
campus, was presented to the class of <lb />
A beautiful poem Fir <lb />
was read. The exercises were closed <lb />
by the Seniors singing a lullaby to the <lb />
trees.<lb />
