believe in teaching children <lb />
at an early age to financiers; or, <lb />
you may term it, to use money <lb />
properly, says a contributor to <lb />

Have You Sent <lb />
Away <lb />
That like a funny question, addressed t every cit- <lb />
of this town community, but really a period one. <lb />
There is now just completed n magnificent build- <lb />
of red brick exterior and concrete interior right in the <lb />
business heart of one of the biggest of American, It <lb />
occupies a block and calls itself in a large <lb />
Largest Monolithic Building In It has <lb />
Boors, with about a honored acres of floor space. The <lb />
entrances are of solid marble. The floors are beautifully tiled. <lb />
Altogether it is a credit to <lb />
the big city in which A <lb />
stands. Oh. it's a Jim <lb />
Dandy <lb />
now, many bricks <lb />
have you sent to the city <lb />
to into this big build- <lb />
Honest, how many <lb />
Of the hundreds of <lb />
thousands of pot <lb />
into the walls of this <lb />
building the city when it <lb />
stands has contributed not <lb />
a red brick. <lb />
try people, the people of <lb />
small towns and cities far <lb />
away the big me- <lb />
have sent in the <lb />
bricks for the <lb />
of this <lb />
You may have sent in <lb />
a hods of bricks your- <lb />
self without knowing it. <lb />
This <lb />
cent structure, which or- <lb />
a city you prob- <lb />
ably never will see your- <lb />
self, is built of bricks <lb />
bought with the dollars of <lb />
living in towns <lb />
just like <lb />
like to have some <lb />
new buildings themselves now and then. Every dollar <lb />
contributed to the building fund means a nice, hefty <lb />
hod of bricks for this big, beautiful skyscraper, in <lb />
the of its kind. This building was put up. through <lb />
the kind donations of their unknown country cousins, by a <lb />
firm that ran a small store in that city a few years ago. <lb />
But this firm conceived the cute idea of having thou- <lb />
sands strangers contribute bricks to build its fine, large, <lb />
new store. <lb />
And the building is a Order Store. Sec <lb />

Mr. T. D. Blackburn, a <lb />

among the excursionists to <lb />
Morehead last Sunday and had a <lb />
thrilling experience. He was on <lb />
one of the sharpies returning <lb />
from a trip to the and <lb />
i reclining very carelessly on <lb />
the deck rail. He was cautioned <lb />
i to his position but did not heed <lb />
warning. As the pilot of the <lb />
was about to shift course <lb />
the boat took a sudden dip and <lb />
lover Blackburn into <lb />
the sound where the water was <lb />
very deep. <lb />
the boat turned about <lb />
I to rescue the overboard and <lb />
for a time all was excitement. A <lb />
box was first thrown him and <lb />
this helped keep him afloat. <lb />
The boat was difficult <lb />
in such short turns and Mr <lb />
Blackburn was run over several <lb />
times before he was finally <lb />
picked up and hauled back on <lb />
board. He pretty well used <lb />

is likely to result in a <lb />
decreasing rate of dividend, <lb />
while careful and economic <lb />
methods are likely to result in an <lb />
increased amount of profits to be <lb />
divided. Under man- <lb />
the financial reports of <lb />
he Mutual Life Insurance Com- <lb />
of New York have shown a <lb />
constantly increasing sum to be <lb />
distributed as dividends among <lb />
the insured, as will be seen by <lb />
the following record from <lb />
the reports issued by the <lb />
Dividends paid in 1905, <lb />
758,003.99. <lb />
Dividends paid in 1906, <lb />
919.15. <lb />
Dividends paid in 1907, <lb />
331.493.34. <lb />
Apportioned for payment in <lb />
1908. <lb />
This tremendous increase in <lb />
the amount of dividends paid and <lb />
to be paid, is due to the <lb />
and economical management of <lb />
the company and the <lb />
of deferred dividend policies. <lb />
The Mutual Life Insurance Co- <lb />

who did know better, but who <lb />
turned themselves loose and let <lb />
the devil lead them captive at <lb />

the average delegate, after he <lb />
has become intoxicated with the <lb />

sense than a goat. He <lb />
reason to the winds and devotes <lb />
himself to the business of try- <lb />

these delegates, and all their <lb />
