sincere thanks to every <lb />

We hope all who have been with <lb />
us during the past year will con- <lb />

be our aim at all times to give the <lb />
people a clean, truthful paper <lb />
that will be a credit to the town <lb />
and Every friend can <lb />
help us in this by speaking to his <lb />
neighbor and asking him to take <lb />
the Reflector for next year. Now <lb />
wishing all a Merry Christmas, <lb />
and hoping the Year will <lb />
bring you peace prosperity, <lb />
we bid farewell to the old year. <lb />
There will be three women in <lb />

Spot cotton is being bought <lb />

DELIGHTFUL <lb />
The at the Fe- <lb />

one of the best ever given in <lb />
Greenville. From beginning to <lb />
end it was a splendid success and <lb />
reflected the highest credit on <lb />
not only the participants but also <lb />
on Prof. Goode and his most <lb />
crops of teachers. We wish <lb />
space could be had to day to com <lb />
upon each select, for every <lb />
part was perfect and faultlessly <lb />
rendered, but as it is we will <lb />

LOCAL NOTES AND TOBACCO <lb />
JOTTINGS. <lb />
BY L. <lb />
a Reports from nearly all the to- <lb />
sections of the South show <lb />
the crop to be anything but a <lb />
fine one. About per cent of <lb />
the Kentucky crop is nondescript <lb />
and in those sections of Va., and <lb />
N. C- where fine wrappers <lb />
good cutters were expected wild <lb />
nondescript stuff is show <lb />
up. So our Eastern farmers <lb />
have good grounds to build their <lb />
hopes upon if they grow a good <lb />
crop in <lb />
Mr- J. S. Jenkins, than whom <lb />
there is no buyer that has more <lb />
closely identified himself with the <lb />
tobacco interest of Greenville for <lb />
the past three years, has so con- <lb />
ducted his business in the inter- <lb />
est of the parties for whom he <lb />
has been baying, that after the <lb />
holidays they will put him on <lb />
some of the up country markets- <lb />
Mr. Jenkins will return in time <lb />
for the opening breaks of the <lb />
warehouses here next season. <lb />
While we regret his leaving us at <lb />
all, yet hope for him a pleas- <lb />
ant and profitable stay. <lb />
There is talk about a to <lb />
warehouse being built in <lb />
one or two in <lb />
we would not surprised <lb />
to hear that Falkland and Farm <lb />
ville were developing ideas along <lb />
this line. While we know that <lb />
any expression of opinion on <lb />
our part would most certainly <lb />
misunderstood, and there is no <lb />
but that we would be ac- <lb />
of mercenary motives, yet <lb />
to those who expect to invest <lb />
their money in these enterprises <lb />
we would say the people Tar- <lb />

Your <lb />
Good we <lb />
There is more real good people <lb />
in this world than we are apt to <lb />
suppose. Some people allow <lb />
their liver to out of order and <lb />
imagine that all the world is. <lb />
against them, and that all man j <lb />
kind are frauds cheats. But; <lb />
such is not the case. We <lb />
really surprised at the number of <lb />
good Christian people in our i <lb />
own community who are not <lb />
generally known to the public as ; <lb />
philanthropists or great of i <lb />
good. We are not speaking of <lb />
our charitable institutions and <lb />
societies, bat of t average, <lb />
everyday citizen. We know of <lb />
three or persona our town <lb />
who would modesty <lb />
were it publicly known that they I <lb />
were of this class, yet they sneak <lb />
about daily, not allowing the <lb />
right hand to know what the left <lb />

they give liberally, but always en <lb />
condition that their name shall <lb />

no mention be made of the mat <lb />
Some may say but <lb />
they are few and tar <lb />
But such is not the case. We <lb />
could point out twenty such men <lb />
on our streets any day, we <lb />
do not pretend to be behind the <lb />
scenes, either. Yes, verily, there <lb />
is more good in human nature, <lb />

Information has been received <lb />
here that Mr. J. W. Price, who <lb />
was traveling salesman for Find- <lb />

chants of Baltimore, died in that <lb />
city on Saturday. Mr. Price was <lb />
one of the best of men, a thorough <lb />
gentleman, and was held in high <lb />
esteem wherever he went. He had <lb />
some warm friends in Greenville <lb />
who with sorrow of his <lb />
death. <lb />
That's Way. <lb />
A remark Mr. J. J. Cherry <lb />
made in our hearing gives an <lb />
idea of how Greenville is grow- <lb />

time you pass along there is a <lb />

Rev. J. H- delivered <lb />
his parting sermon at the Baptist <lb />
church Sunday night. It consist- <lb />
ed of a brief history of own <lb />
experience which was told in a <lb />
manner both interesting and <lb />
touching. We wish every young <lb />
man in the community <lb />
heard him. It was indeed an in <lb />
to a higher, better and <lb />
more noble life. In his closing <lb />
remarks he referred to the <lb />
his stay in Greenville had <lb />
afforded him, his pleasant <lb />
lions with the ministers of other <lb />
denominations, and the congenial <lb />
manner in which be had been <lb />
treated by all people. Mr <lb />
is truly a consecrated <lb />
Christian gentleman, a faithful <lb />
man of God, an able, eloquent <lb />
preacher, and it is with reluctance <lb />
and sorrow that the and <lb />
community part with him. Green <lb />

his mind will be early restored. <lb />
