<p>This pamphlet discusses the history of Union Chapel, located in Onslow County, from 1730 to 1956. The church had five different names during this time period: St. John's (1730-1743), New River (1743-1807), Chapel Run (1808-1842), Richland Chapel (1843-1850), and Union Chapel (1851-1956). The author provides a timeline for the affiliation of the church, as it evolved from a chapel of the Church of England to a Baptist congregation and finally to membership in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). A list of ministers is followed by a discussion of four members of the Mulkey family who preached at the church.
