The terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentaon were unbelievable to me. I honestly couldn't believe that someone would actually do something so terrible. It is also unbelievable that innocent lives were taken in such a terrible way. The fact that the hijackers were willing to die because of the hate they have for our country is chilling. I'm very upset about airport security and the fact that citizens weren't protected. It's scary that people can make it on to airplanes with weapons. The situation hit me hard, because I was just returning from New York City this time last week. What if this would've happened just a week earlier? It could've been the flight I was on. This really makes me question my safety. I truly hope that whoever did this is punished greatly for their actions. I also pray for the lives lost in the tragedy and those that were also affected. I hope that America will take steps to insure the safety of everyone living in the country. This is a great tragedy and it will be on the minds of Americans forever.
