Dear Member and Vice Chairmen.
This is the year when we must and will send Nixon back to California and Benson back to Utah. We will have a fight on our hands, but with all of us pulling together our good County of Pitt will come through with a great majority. In the last three presidential election years out County gave the ticket the largest numerical majority of any county in the State despite the fact that there are about twenty-five counties in the State with a greater voting power than ours.
I am writing you this letter to urge YOU to attend a meeting of the Committee on Saturday, August 20th, at 12.30 P.M. at Respess Brothers Barbecue House. After we have eaten, we will map out plans on how to carry on the campaign so that again Pitt will be at the forefront.
