President of the East Carolina Railway,

Tarboro, N.C.,

Dear Sir:-

The Wilmington and Weldon Rail Road Company having become the owner, by purchase, of the Capital Stock of the

formance by that Company of the contract made with you for the

operation and maintenance of the road, bearing date the 23rd.

day of May, 1899, and doth further agree that it will make

rates with the East Carolina Railway as with other connections,

and that it will accept all forect products from said road for

transportation over its line and connections at one cent less

than the present rate from Tarboro, as its proportion of the

rate, and that upon merchandise and other products it will

give the East Carolina Railway a constructive mileage of fifty

miles and will prorate with it.
