            <p>President of the East Carolina Railway,</p>
            <p>Tarboro, N.C.,</p>
            <p>Dear Sir:-</p>
            <p>The Wilmington and Weldon Rail Road Company having
            become the owner, by purchase, of the Capital Stock of
            the</p>
            <p>formance by that Company of the contract made with
            you for the</p>
            <p>operation and maintenance of the road, bearing date
            the 23rd.</p>
            <p>day of May, 1899, and doth further agree that it
            will make</p>
            <p>rates with the East Carolina Railway as with other
            connections,</p>
            <p>and that it will accept all forect products from
            said road for</p>
            <p>transportation over its line and connections at one
            cent less</p>
            <p>than the present rate from Tarboro, as its
            proportion of the</p>
            <p>rate, and that upon merchandise and other products
            it will</p>
            <p>give the East Carolina Railway a constructive
            mileage of fifty</p>
            <p>miles and will prorate with it.</p>
