	<p>Left home Sept 17th 1863 arived at <name type="place" key="name-00000012"><reg>Charlotte (N.C.)</reg><orig>Charlotte</orig></name> on 18th started to <name type="place" key="name-00000009"><reg>Wilmington (N.C.)</reg><orig>Willimington</orig></name> and landed there on the Sept 21st then I comenced my campaign Dec 22 Left Willmington marched to fort Caswell, on the 11th of March left Caswell marched back to Willmington Camp Lamb, Left Camp Lamb as St and marched out to Martins comand 3 miles from Willmington, on the 25 Sept left Martins Comand and returned to Caswell on the Same Day, Left Caswell on the 7 of Aprile on furlow and returned the 19th,  May the 21 Left fort Caswell and marched back to Willmington, on 22nd marched to Masons burrow Sound the same Day, July 9th left Willmington</p>

	<p>and marched to Charleston landed the 10th on James Island, on the 22 marched back to Willmington Landed 23rd, Oct 20th Left Willmington marched to the Sound Camp Davis, Left Camp Davis Nov 10 and marched to fort Fisher Camp Sugar Loaf, Nov 22nd left Sugar Loaf and march back to Willmington, and then marched from there to Agusta Georgia.  Landed on the 25 Nov, left Agusta Geo, marched to Pocotaligo Landed the 1st Dec, left Pocotaligo the 2nd landed the 3 at Savanna marched from Savanna the same day 245 miles four and a half station centered R R, on the 4 fell back 35 miles thence marched back eight miles on the 9th there we had a fight and then fell back to Savanna on the Same night into the Rifle pits these we remained under fire till the fall of Savanna the 20th Dec, thence fell back to</p>

	<p>Hardeeville, Left Hardeeville on the 25 Dec and fell back to Pocotaligo Left Pocotaligo 14th January and fell back to Saltcetchie River, Feb the 3rd fell back to the geo R.R. on the 4 and 5 Feb we retreated back to Branchville from there we marched down the Edisto River 5 miles from thence Down the R R to Ridgeville 17th Feb from thence to the River Barge on the Charleston R R from thence to Florence from thence to Cheraw, and there we crossed the Peedee River from there to Rockingham NC and from thence we marched on to <name type="place" key="name-00000011"><reg>Smithfield (N.C.)</reg><orig>Smithfield</orig></name> on the centered R R an from there we fell back to Guilford County where we was Surrendered</p>
