	<p>By the Blesing of god I am well at present Well Mag I hant much nuse to comunicate to you at present only sum ides as relats to presing horses I want you to tel them you hant but 2 work horses and it takes them both to work what ground you have,, 2 work horses and a colt I dont want them to take any of my stock<note n="1" type="edit">"presing horses": pressing horses; Robert Caldwell is referring to actions taken by the Confederate Army to trade worn-out army horses for fresher horses from nearby farms and stables.  Soldiers sent on "pressing" trips often had to take mules instead, as horses had become scarce throughout the South and farmers were reluctant to let the soldiers take any of their stock.</note> tel them you run 2 plows I want you to run two plows til I get home if it is the Lords will I shod get home home is a Sweet place But the lord only nows when that will be if I get home I want my horses I dont in the Confedret paper dont sel any flower at the government prices</p>

	<p>Well Mag I Was at church last night Methist and Babtist<note n="2" type="edit">Methist and Babtist: Methodist and Baptist</note> tha had a lively time of it the prodigals returning home tha had the fated calf Slain and a wonderful a Do his text was the 15 ch of Luke 18 verce he preach a good Sermon there is a great revivle going on here at present I hope it will do sum good for there is great need of it this is one weeked<note n="3" type="edit">weeked: wicked</note> place Awful indeed I will be on gard to morow gaerding goverment Stores guns coten corn powder bots prisners every thing that belongs to the government it taks 50 men to make one gard when I go on I stay 24 hours I hope the chills wont cum back on me badely again tha worsted me badly)</p>
