	<p>I take the present opertunity of Droping you a fu lines to let you here from <name type="person" key="name-00000001"><reg>Robert C. Caldwell</reg><orig>R.C.C.</orig></name> his helth is good By the Blesing of god I am Still at <name type="place" key="name-00000009"><reg>Wilmington (N.C.)</reg><orig>Wilmington</orig></name> the helth of this place is good I receved your leters Dated the 25 and 27 the one that came by Charlston came in 3 days it came as soon as the 25 one this is the hotest Day I felt I Beleve this is a hot cuntry Down here I expect We Will Stay here a while the prics is A Wful Watermelon is ten and twelve Dolars chicken is ten Dolars a head buter ten Dol per Pound Apels 3 Dol a Dusen peaches 4 Dolars a Dusen cucumbers 4 Dolars a Dosen tomatoes one dol a dozen rasberries one Dol a crate</p>

	<p>So you Se how we git things I Bot me a quart of molases I Pade ten Dolars for a quart I Broke the mane Spring of my Wach I tride to get it fix the Smith Sed he must have 20 Dol for mending it I think I Will Send it home to get it mended the first chance I get I Dont feel like paying So much I expect to Send this leter By hand by Starens he Starts in the morning I hant got No Nuse of intrest crops looks very well Down here We had a fine rane yesterday this makes 3 leters <name type="person" key="name-00000001"><reg>Robert C.
