	<p>By the Mercys of a kind father <name type="person" key="name-00000001"><reg>Robert C. Caldwell</reg><orig>R.C.C.</orig></name> Sill lives in this Sinful war and confusion But I have no reson to complain or otent to complain my helth is good that is a great Blesing Bestoed on me for which I feel truly thankful to the giver of all things, god Send how Soon this cruel war may Stop and let us Soldiers return home to our love ones in pece But Alas ther is meny a one gone gone never to return again I no not when this war will close</p>
	<p>Well Mag it is raning now and has bin the last three days is very cold. Mag I have bin cooking for the last 3 weeks I am at ritsful Sound</p>

	<p>Well Mag I got lost Sundy knight coming from <name type="place" key="name-00000009"><reg>Wilmington (N.C.)</reg><orig>Wilmington</orig></name> it raind on me all day til got to camps about nine o clock that night wet as if I had cum out of the creek L.B. Rus was with me we walked a bout 20 miles it was 6 miles I have hire washing of my duds and my mony is getting short I loned 30 dolars I cant get it I hant drawd none yet I can Borow til I draw I have five dolars that is my pile I Sent home Severl's things in my trunk a pare of chains I found Nuthing more at present it is time to put on diner</p>

	<p>Mag I gut my trunk it came to <name type="place" key="name-00000009"><reg>Wilmington (N.C.)</reg><orig>Wilmington</orig></name> I went to Wilmington Sunday to get Sum things but my Sope was gone and paper and Sverl litle things I Send my trunk home I cant get it along moving so much you ma Send me a Small Box if it Soots you a litle flower Sum buter Sum litle of one thing and Som 15 or 20 of flouer I dont want no meet I dont care much whether you do or not I am moving about So much I cant take it along..I Stand a chance to los it I have got to be cook I can cook good things for my Self corn bead with the bran in it and fry nasaw and rise<note n="1" type="edit">fry nasaw and rise: fried Nassau [meat] and rice</note> I live at home Bring your kniting and cum over and take diner with R.C.C</p>
