By the help of god I am able to answer your kind leters which I receved to day it found me beter I am puting up winter quarters I am a goood abe beter I am at work and i hope those fu lines may find you engoying the Same Blessing of god I have nuthing of intrs to write Sam is porly yet the rest of our famley is Better

I dident make no return at tawl but my State and county tax that is all count on paying for I had to give a refunding Bond for my mony I dident cal it my one til that Bond was lifted I returned nothing dont you I think I am paying him a nuf tax my all in the confdrert if you can git Hen Welch take him I woold perfur him before Ellie if you cant Soot your Self beter Sow both the first fields in wheat Welch field in oats (letter stops--pages missing or lost).
