Whereas, J. J. Laughinghovse, J. Bryan Grimes
and Mrs. J. H. Saunders’have sustained heavy losses
by incendiary fires and other acts of lawlessness
have been committed in

GHICOD TOWNSHIP,

And whereas it seems impossible to apprebend the
criminals, we believe the welfare and property otf
the community demands that some action be taken
to point out the author or authors of these repeated
burnings in this locality and that some protection to
property should be guaranteed our citizens by the
county Within whose jurisdiction all such matters
belong. and whereas such ‘crimes remaining unpun-
ishedis a direct menace to law and order and im-
perils life. We. the

BOARD COMMISSIONERS OF PITT COUNTY,

Therefore, offer a reward of $200 for the conviction
of person or persons who fired the property of J.J.
Laughinghouse, and $200 reward for the conviction
of person or persons who fired the Proverty of J. B.
(irimes. and $200 reward fo: the conviction of per-
