Dear Sirs=

i The Wilmington and Weldom Rail Road Company having
become the owner, by ourexane, of the Capital Stock of the
East Carolina Railway, doth hereby agree to guarantee the per=
formance by that Company of the contract made with you for the
operation and maintenance of the road, bearing date the 25rd.
day of May, 1899, and doth further agree that it will make
rates with the East Carolina Railway as with other connections,
and that it will accept all forest products from said road for
transportation over its line and connections at one cent less
tham the present rate from Tarboro, as its proportion of the
rate, and that upon merchandise and other products it will
give the Bast Carolina Railway a constructive mileage of fifty

miles and will prorate with it,
