Denis Cashman is my direct ancestor, and my family gave this diary to ECU while I was a student there. My daughter Jean Buehler is interested in using information from his diary for a research project on the Irish diaspora in her Transatlantic Visual Culture class at St, Olaf College in Northfield, MN, although she is currently working from our home in Houston. My Mother in Law was Denis Cashman's grand-daughter. Her name: Mildred Mary Cashman Sheehy. She had received the diary from William Cashman, Denis' son. She had it for many years and subsequently gave it to her son, Dr. Alfred M. Sheehy. He donated it to E. Carolina U. Denis has quite a few Great great Grandchildren and GGG grandchildren. They will be interested in this, and, I will inform them. We have been looking for Denis' grave, and, we think we found it in Holyhood Cemetery. My daughter and I left shamrocks and a rosary there recently. We think, from the Cemetery Records, that Denis and Catherine and their children are all there. We have not concluded that absolutely yet, however. Thank you for a lovely presentation. Mary Anne Sheehy
