Description
East Carolina University 1981 Spring Commencement video recording. Recording begins with entry and seating of graduates, and continues with the recognition of distinguished guests and introductory address by ECU chancellor Dr. Thomas Brewer. Next to speak is James B. Hunt, governor of North Carolina. Dr. Brewer then recognizes those graduating with honors, followed by the deans of each school presenting the baccalaureate degree candidates from their school and the ceremonial awarding of baccalaureate degrees to the class of 1981. Next is the recognition and awarding of degrees to candidates from the graduate school and the recognition and awarding of degrees to candidates from the School of Medicine. The ceremony closes with the Alma Mater, a benediction, and recessional.
