TO MR. & MRS. A. FORBES.
BY % M.
Wife, this is our silver wedding,
Let us celebrate the day ;
Married eighteen seventy one
On the second day of May.
LetTs invite our friends and neighbors,
1) Bid the ehildren all to come;
Seven born and seven living,
Wife and children make this home.
| Five and twenty years ago, wife,
You stood by, my blushing bride ;
Five and twenty years of wifehood
Brings you closer to my side.
s | Curl your silver locks for cupid,
Love grows well beneath my wig ;
Celebrate our silver wedding,
Cook the cake and kill the pig.
Yes, my husband, kind and thoughtful,
Five and twenty years ago
Our lives were joined together
For our future weal of. woe,
Fourth a centuryTs light behind us,
~What's before us none can tell ;
Raise an arch and drape the par lor,
Hang the silver wedding bell.
Bring the future what it may bring,
This is to our happy past ;
Always find the treshest blossom
On the tree that budded last.

. peAta recent sale of the assets of a
riding academy in New York city the
saddle horses brought an average
of Jess than $30 apiece. This is said
to be the lowest price on record for
horses of this description, and the fact
was generally noted that in New York
the market value of a horse is lower
than that of a bicyele.
The ceremonies at the creation of
knights have been various. _ The. prin-

shoulder belt and a gilt sword, spurs
and other military aceouterments, aft-
er which, being armed as a knight,
he was led to the church with great
